An airline pilot delayed a New York-bound flight for more than two hours, awaiting his sandwich delivery.
The pilot for Pakistan International Airlines demanded that the aircraft wait at the airport in Lahore for his sandwich from a five-star restaurant in the city, even though the restaurant told him it may take several hours, ABC News reported.
He made the request after learning there were no sandwiches on the flight menu -- only peanuts, chips and biscuits.
According to The Nation newspaper, the pilot said he "needed sandwiches at any cost."
His request was OK'd by the catering office and sent to the airline's management office in Karachi, where management "directed the catering department to meet his demand."
The flight scheduled for departure at 6:45 a.m. didn't take off until 9:15 a.m.
