WELD COUNTY, Colo. -

A pickup truck collided with a tow truck and a Colorado State Patrol car, killing one person and injuring a state trooper in Weld County.

Colorado State Patrol said the crash happened at 1 p.m. Saturday on Highway 85 in Weld County.

Our sister station KMGH in Denver reports that the tow truck driver was killed on scene and the back half of the trooper's vehicle was demolished.

State Patrol expects to have the Southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 85 closed near Weld County Road Six until 9 p.m. Saturday while they investigate the crash.
