RYE, Colo. -

Three men are facing drug charges after an undercover sting in a mountain town southwest of Pueblo.

The operation, dubbed "Operation Mountain Man", began after several people in the community of Rye reported suspicious activity to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office.

A Pueblo County Sheriff's Deputy was embedded into the circle of suspects to record their activities.

Search warrants were executed at two homes in Rye and one in Pueblo and ultimately three men were arrested.

In a news release, Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor spoke about the dedication of the detectives involved in the sting: "These undercover detectives committed themselves entirely to this operation. Hundreds of hours were put into this effort, hours away from their families and routine activities. They recovered illegal drugs, a stolen gun, drug money and stolen property related to recent burglaries and the community is safer for it.”

All three suspects are facing felony charges. They are being held at the Pueblo County Detention Center.
