Colorado Springs marijuana users talk about the annual day to celebrate pot.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Some Colorado businesses are hitting their yearly highs thanks to the annual 420 tradition.

420 is known worldwide as a day to celebrate marijuana. It's the first celebration since voters passed Amendment 64 in November, which paved the way for the recreational use of marijuana in Colorado.

This year's 420 celebration is drawing a handful of big events and concerts to Colorado with artists like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Snoop Lion and Slightly Stoopid, to name a few.

Businesses like Myxed Up provide smoking accessories. On Friday, they saw a run on supplies.

"Since it got legal, I think it's a big step," said Tony Pacheco, who uses medicinal marijuana because of a back injury.

Pacheco said he sees marijuana use becoming a regular activity in light of the medicinal marijuana industry and forthcoming recreational laws -- in other words, it's not just a holiday that's got business buzzing.

"As far as the hype, I think it's more so because of the concerts they're having," said Pacheco.

A social cannabis club is hosting a 420 celebration in Colorado Springs Saturday. The all-day event is at a business on the corner of Jet Wing Road and Fountain Boulevard.

Denver will host several concerts by artists who champion marijuana use and will be home to the 420 Rally at Civic Center Park, which is expected to draw close to 80,000 people.
