CU says pot ban will continue despite election
The University of Colorado has no plans to change its ban on a marijuana gathering next April.
University spokesman Bronson Hilliard told the Boulder Daily Camera on Wednesday (http://tinyurl.com/anutpdb) officials still plan to make sure thousands of pot smokers don't gather on April 20, despite the passage of a statewide measure legalizing marijuana.
The new law bans smoking marijuana in public.
Earlier this year, the university closed the campus to visitors and blocked access to a student gathering place.
Every year, marijuana activists across the nation hold pot-smoking protests on April 20 to demand legalization. The gathering at the University of Colorado in Boulder has become one of the biggest campus protests.
