FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. -

A 48-year-old Canon City woman is in the Fremont County Detention Center after she allegedly stabbed her husband during a domestic fight at their home on Navajo Drive in southern Fremont County.

Kelly Dooley is being held on charges of 2nd Degree Assault/Domestic Violence.

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office was notified of the stabbing at approximately 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, after Dooley went to a neighbor's house asking for help.

Dooley told the neighbor that she had stabbed her husband, David Dooley, during a physical altercation, the sheriff's office said.

The neighbor transported David into Canon City where they met up with deputies and an awaiting ambulance. David was then transported to St. Thomas More Hospital where he was treated for what was later determined to be a non-life threatening stab wound in the back.

Deputies subsequently took Kelly Dooley into custody at her residence and transported her to the Fremont County Detention Center after she was examined by medical personnel for minor injuries received during the altercation.

She is being held without bond.
