Local watch parties planned for presidential debate

Both El Paso County republicans and democrats are hosting watch parties for Wednesday night's presidential debate in Denver.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Both the El Paso County Republican and Democratic parties have watch parties planned for Wednesday night.

The Democrats plan to gather at the Coffee Exchange at 526 S. Tejon St. at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Republicans have planned two parties. One of them is at Solo's, also known as the Airplane Restaurant, off of Powers Boulevard at 1665 N. Newport Road. The other will be held at the party's headquarters at 205 Sutton Lane. Both start at around 6:30 p.m.

Leaders of both parties have expressed excitement about Colorado being a battleground state this election.

They have also been busy making sure people are registered to vote.
