The man accused in a deadly hit-and-run accident that took the life of a 14-year-old boy accepted a plea deal on Tuesday.
38-year-old David Allan Henley pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
Henley will be sentenced to 36 years in prison, according to the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office. His next hearing is set for December 4th.
The crash happened on May 3rd. Police say 14-year-old Ricardo "Ricky" Figueroa was running home when he tripped in the road near Circle and Airport. Witnesses said he was struck violently by a truck, which kept going without stopping.
Police arrested Henley for the crime days later.
Figueroa was an 8th grader preparing to graduate from Galileo School of Math and Science. He was looking forward to starting at Wasson High School in the fall.
