The Pueblo Police Department is looking for volunteers.
Its for a new division called the Community Service Division.
Applicants need to be at least 18 years-old and willing to volunteer eight hours a month.
“There are a lot of people out there who want to help the police,” said Officer Shelly Taylor.
Taylor will be one of the officers overseeing the program.
She said at least 44 people have called wanting to take part in the new division.
“They are going to be able to pick what fits them best,” said Taylor.
The application process will be on the department's website, or people can call the Police Department.
“The screening process is going to be almost identical to the process we put our officers through. We do a strict background [check] to make sure the people are trustworthy to the access we have to[give them],” said Taylor.
The department is also looking for someone to design a new logo for the division. The winner will win a $100 gas card and $50 gift certificate.
