Woodland Park police look for forgery suspect

Woodland Park police officers are asking for the public's help identifying a woman they say stole checks from a man's mailbox.
Police say that around 10:00 a.m. Monday, a man placed his outgoing mail in his mailbox outside his home in Colorado Springs. A neighbor informed him about ten minutes later that she had witnessed an individual going through his mailbox.
The victim checked his mailbox and noticed his CitiBank payment was missing. He contacted his bank in Woodland Park and placed a stop payment on the check.
Meanwhile, a woman shown in the photograph above arrived at the Park State Bank and Trust with a forged check. Police say that the bank check had been washed, the "Pay to" line had been changed to the identity the suspect was using, and the amount of the check had also been changed. The female suspect presented a Colorado driver's license, believed to be stolen. Police say that the bank teller informed the suspect that she needed to speak with a supervisor. The suspect then left the bank, leaving behind the bank check and driver's license.
No suspect vehicle information was obtained.
