Colorado Springs Airport May Not Allow Pot on Planes
It turns out marijuana may not fly at the Colorado Springs Airport.
Yesterday officials said if you're at least 21 and aren't carrying any more than an ounce of weed, you're all set to board your flight at the Colorado Springs Airport, according to its assistant aviation director.
But now that may change. In a news release sent to KRDO, the Colorado Springs Airport said this:
“To discourage interstate drug trafficking and to comply with multiple Federal stakeholder requirements, Mayor Bach and Police Chief Carey are evaluating their options for disallowing the possession of marijuana at the COS Airport and other City facilities. This is a complex issue and the City of Colorado Springs is working to determine what a prohibition would encompass from a legal and law enforcement standpoint and the best method to implement such a restriction. No further information is available at this time, but will be released when it becomes available. “
We'll keep you updated on the decision.
