A Car chase through Southern Pueblo Tuesday morning scattered firearms and ammunition across the interstate.

PUEBLO, Colo. -

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office said the suspects stolen car crashed during a high-speed chase throwing 60 stolen firearms and rounds of ammunition across both sides of Interstate 25 Tuesday.

One suspect tried to run from the crashed truck. A witness said police subdued him with a teaser as he tried to climb a fence along the interstate. He was taken into custody along with one other person.

The incident began with a home invasion in the 6200 block of Highway 78 West around 5:30 a.m. The victim said two, possibly three, men forced their way into her father's home. One suspect kept her in a bedroom of the home while the other(s) ransacked the home's gun collection.

The Pueblo County Sheriff estimated some of the guns stolen were worth $5,000.

The suspects set their truck on fire and took off in the victim's family's white Toyota flatbed truck.

Law enforcement found the truck and started to chase it. The suspects threw firearms out the windows as they tried to escape.

Law enforcement pulled a pursuit intervention technique, or PIT, maneuver. A deputy bumped the corner of the suspect's truck to try to get it to spin out. Instead, the suspect over-corrected the truck and caused it to flip on its top.

The two suspects in custody were taken to the hospital. There is no word on their conditions.
