CSPD investigates shooting; One person taken to hospital

Neighbors were scared after a shooting happened in Colorado Springs following 4th of July celebrations.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting early Saturday morning.

Police got reports around 1 a.m. that a woman was shot in the 3200 block of Tail Spin Dr. Police say a woman was taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Officers say people were shooting each other in the Colorado Springs neighborhood.

Brandon Alexander lives near where the crime happened. He said he heard 15-20 gun shots coming from the home and people rushed away in their vehicles.

He said he doesn't know the person who was shot, but he has a message for her.

"I hope you recover, it's never good to lose someone close, especially at a young age I had plenty of my friends go already and it's not good to see," he said

Police say they're not looking for any suspects or persons of interest at this time.
