An early Christmas present for a Black Forest Homeowner

BLACK FOREST, Colo -

Mounds of dirt that were being moved in Black Forest on Thursday didn't obscure the view for a homeowner whose dream is slowly coming true.  Today was groundbreaking for Darrell and Jenny Fortner's new home.  The property was destroyed by the Black Forest fire last Summer.

Saddletree Homes' Lee Bolin is proud to be part of making a dream come true for the Fortners.  Today was more than just a home groundbreaking, it was also a moment to help heal an emotional wound for the Fortners.  They lost their four German Shepherds and two cats to the raging hot fire.

Bolin had a special surprise in addition to the groundbreaking, a new German Shepherd pup for Darrell and Jenny.  Darrell Fortner told me, "It's the second best moment in my life.  The first one was marrying my wife, Jenny."   Fortner was smiling ear to ear after being presented with the gift and described his benefactor, Lee Bolin this way, "He's got a heart of gold and if I had a piece of gold in my heart like Lee's, I'd be the richest man alive."

Darrell Fortner's home should be move in ready in May.
