Durango-to-Grand Junction bus service delayed

Published On: Jul 08 2013 07:19:16 PM CDT

A bus service between Grand Junction and Durango is launching later than expected.

The Southern Ute Community Action Programs received a $200,000 grant last year from the Colorado Department of Transportation to operate the Road Runner Transit service. At the time, it was expected to launch in May.
The Daily Sentinel reports the service should be running within a few months, but a specific date hasn't been announced.
Southern Ute Community Action Programs is waiting to receive and refurbish some buses.
Road Runner Transit would replace a route Greyhound abandoned between Salt Lake City and Albuquerque, N.M., in 2011.
Peter Tregillus of Southern Ute Community Action Programs says one-way bus passes are expected to cost around $60.
