One home at a time FEMA leaders are reaching out to flood victims along Cheyenne Creek. Jaclyn Rostie reports.

Federal Emergency Management Agency employees spent their Saturday meeting with Colorado Springs flood victims.

They went door-to-door to homes closest to Cheyenne Creek. The hope is to help as many people as possible with the initial claims process and answer questions, especially if they don't know where to start.

"I think they're in a state of shock looking for guidance and direction and we're trying to provide that," said Randy Collier with FEMA.

FEMA said they've offered more than $12 million in assistance across the state and they expect more money to be available in the next few days.

Most of that money will be used for temporary housing and home repairs.

So far, 14,000 Coloradans have registered with FEMA.
