Haiyan help

Published On: Nov 10 2013 10:10:02 PM CST

Millions are displaced, thousands are feared dead.  Super Typhoon Haiyan might be the strongest tropical cyclone to hit land.  With sustained winds of 195 mph and gusts well over 200 mph, 90% of the infrastructure was heavily damaged, according to the secretary of the Philippine Red Cross, Gwendolyn Pang.

The Filipino American Community of Southern Colorado is trying to act quickly to help.  They are reaching out to friends and neighbors here to help out their homeland.

"We do not know yet the extent of the damage caused by this Super Typhoon, but what we know for sure, we will do what we can to ease the pain and suffering of those affected by this devastating typhoon," said FACSC President Ruby Ioapo.

If you can, the FACSC asks you to make checks payable to: Fil-Am Community.

You can send checks to: c/o Ester Javier, 3430 Marble Terrace Colorado Springs, CO, 80906
