Colorado Springs Police arrested a man early Thursday morning after he barricaded himself in an apartment at a complex on the 1800 block of Monterey Road.

According to police, James Ferrell, 29, was wanted for felony burglary and trespassing charges.  However, when police arrived at the apartment around six on Wednesday evening,  he refused to leave the building.

Instead, they said he pushed furniture against a bedroom door, barricading himself inside.

Police said, they began to evacuate the building while Ferrell climbed into an attic space and tried to get into another apartment. The police managed to contain the building.

Finally, at one on Thursday morning, police said, Ferrell left the space and surrendered.

He was arrested and faces four additional charges of felony trespassing and a violation of a protection order.
