COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

The Colorado Springs Police Department says an officer was punched in the face by a man who was standing in the middle of an intersection screaming about demons and robots.

The incident happened at the intersection of E. San Miguel Street and N. Royer Avenue at 9:18 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2013.

Police were called to investigate a report of a man standing in the middle of the intersection screaming about demons and robots.

Officers say the man, later identified as Charles Cline, was very hostile towards officers. They say he began screaming at the officers and accusing them of being demons, half breeds and not human.

A police supervisor was called to the intersection. Police say Cline accused the supervisor of being the devil and hit the supervisor in the face.

The supervisor was not injured. Cline was taken to Memorial Hospital to be checked out before being taken to jail. He's facing unspecified charges.
