Palmer Lake, Colo. -

Some people in Palmer Lake want that city to overturn the council's ban on recreational marijuana. A retired Colorado Springs attorney is behind them.

The group wants to get a question on the April ballot asking voters to get rid of the ban.

Former attorney Dennis Sladek filed lawsuits against El Paso County, the cities of Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Green Mountain Falls, Fountain, Monument and Palmer Lake.

He says it's unconstitutional for any local government to ban a business like recreational marijuana especially since voters said yes.

"I'm not looking to sell some wild, open-to-anybody type of business. It should be regulated and that's what they should be doing instead of trying to oppose them."

If Manitou Springs bans the sale of recreational pot, Sladek says he'll add Manitou to his "lawsuit laundry list."
