Prince Harry brings attention to Warrior Games but doesn't overshadow cyclists

Prince Harry attracts attention at the Warrior Games, but doesn't overshadow cyclists.

Prince Harry attracted a lot of attention to the Warrior Games' Cycling Race Sunday, but not enough to overshadow the heroes competing.

Spectators admitted having royalty at the competition was exciting.

"I was shaking so badly. I was so excited and so nervous," Rachel Faulkner said. "I was really hoping he was going to come say hi to us."

Still, the crowd didn't forget the real reason for the day's festivities. As cyclists sped through the finish line, they were the ones getting the royal treatment. Hundreds of people stood along the raceway, clapping for them, admiring their journey and learning from them.

"I want to show my daughter that she should never give up in her life even though if something happens bad," Elena Voytenkov said.

For some first-time goers, supporting the cyclists will be reason enough to return, they said. Prince or no prince.

"Just to see the excitement of the Warrior Games themselves, and to see the individuals winning and rooting each other on and supporting them after they've been through such a rough time (was rewarding,)" Diane Farley said.
