Pueblo City School District Board discusses amendments to budget

PUEBLO, Colo -

The Pueblo City Schools board will get an update report Thursday (1/08/14) on the proposed amendments to the 2013-14 budget.

Our partners at the Pueblo Chieftain report the board is scheduled to discuss revenue adjustment and expenditure changes.

The district 60 school board will meet at 2p.m. today in the Arapahoe Room of the Administrative Services Center, 315 W. 11th St.

During the meeting, the board will discuss revenue adjustments that will reflect the actual student enrollment and per pupil funding versus what was budgeted in June.

The report also will include any expenditure changes recommended to the adopted budget.

The school board must adopt an amended budget by the end of January.

In another budget item, the board will receive the annual financial report from the 2012-13 year from Tom Sistare, a certified public accountant.

The board will also hear a report from architect James Fennell on the reinvention of the Ivywild Elementary School in Colorado Springs.

Ivywild was closed in 2009 but recently was sold and repurposed as a mixed-use, commercial and community center.

In a separate report, the board will hear a report on the Teach for America Grant.
