Businesses in Pueblo County are getting ready for the biggest marijuana day of the year.
Nature’s Remedy general manager Rick Hooper said next Sunday (04/20/2014) will be an important day for his shop.
He said everyone at his shop will be working that day, and he will have extra help.
“People are willing to volunteer. We have a lot of people who want to come out and help us,” he said.
Do Drop Inn Restaurant manager Makenzie Harrison said her business will also benefit from 4/20.
Her restaurant is next to a marijuana shop and with Easter also happening next Sunday, it will be a busy day.
“We’ve got a lot of business from next door and Easter hits pretty hard already and 4/20 will add to that business,” she said.
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said there will not be an increase in police presence, and it will treat 4/20 as a normal day.
The Colorado Department of Revenue said the state made more than $4 million from medical and recreational marijuana taxes in February.
