Paul Sierra

PUEBLO, Colo. -

Pueblo police have arrested a man who is accused of shooting another man in the head.

Paul Sierra, 38, was arrested at the La Quinta Inn at 4801 N. Elizabeth Street on Monday, January 13, 2014.

Police say the shooting they've linked Sierra to happened at about 2 a.m. Saturday (1/11/14) in the 500 block of South Pueblo Boulevard.

Investigators said there was a family disturbance inside the Fairway Inn and as the victim was leaving in his car, a man fired shots from another car.

The victim was taken to the hospital by car, according to police.

Officers said he had surgery to remove the bullet, which did not go through his brain.

The victim was alert and talking to police officers, according to the police.

Police say Sierra and his brother, Jesus Sierra, 20, were hiding out at the La Quinta Inn and that the younger Sierra had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Both men were taken to the Pueblo County Jail.

Police say various drugs and about $6,000 in cash were seized during the arrest.
