The City of Colorado Springs needs volunteers for a committee that ensures the proper use of public safety sales tax funds.
Specifically, the Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee is tasked with monitoring the expenditure of the Public Safety Sales Tax and ensuring that items approved by voters on November 6, 2001 are accomplished with those funds.
The committee also reviews the annual public safety sales tax and general fund preliminary budget as submitted to city council to ensure that the baseline funding for general public safety expenditures is maintained.
The committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. Additional meetings are sometimes scheduled.
