Saturday events, Mother's Day deals
Colorado is hyping up for Prince Harry's visit, but that is not the only event going on in Southern Colorado this weekend.
Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Saturday is the 21st annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. It's the nation's largest single-day food drive. Last year, more than 70 million pounds of food donations were collected. In Southern Colorado, about 88,000 pounds of food were collected.
This year, the Campbell Soup Company is joining forces with Southern Colorado letter carriers again to stamp out hunger across America.
To participate, just leave a sturdy bag filled with non-perishable food items (e.g., canned soup, canned vegetable, peanut butter, pasta, rice) by your mailbox before the regular, scheduled time of mail delivery. Local letter carriers will collect the donations while they deliver mail. The donations will be taken to Care and Share Food Bank.
United Way Fundraiser at Fun Yogurt
United Way of Pueblo County is holding a fundraiser Saturday to help those in need in the Pueblo community. You can help its cause, all while enjoying a delicious frozen yogurt treat.
The fundraiser will be held at the downtown Pueblo location of Fun Yogurt from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thirty percent of the proceeds will benefit United Way funded programs.
If you cannot make it to the fundraiser, you can still help by making donations to United Way at either of the two Fun Yogurt locations until Monday, May 20.

Starting at 10 a.m., volunteers will work by America the Beautiful Park in downtown Colorado Springs, where Fountain Creek and Monument Creek meet, to clean up the banks and property that line the creeks.
To join in on the clean-up efforts, meet at the park at 10 a.m. Make sure to bring sunscreen, gloves and a water bottle.
