Six Colorado Springs mothers will be honored Thursday at the 3rd Annual Mother's Day Victorian Tea and Tablescapes event.
The tea is hosted by the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary (SAWA). The group raises money for needy children in El Paso County.
The mothers being honored were selected through recommendations of SAWA members. "These mothers represent the beautiful and broad ranges of motherhoof-from a foster mother who selflessly devotes her life to care for a severely disabled child, to a mother who buried her soldier son," said Carolyn Marshall, fundraiser chair.
The mothers selected for recognition are:
Donna Everly- Foster mother of a severely disabled child.
Cleo Allgood- Mother whose son was killed in the Gulf War
Stacy Oliver- Single mother in active duty in the military
Evelyn Minor- Mother. step-mother and an active volunteer
DJ Setton- Mother who lost her home in the Waldo Canyon Fire and the "The Butterfly, Fly and I"
