COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

The Colorado Springs Police Department says one of its SUV's and another car were hit at the end of a pursuit in east-central Colorado Springs.

Swope Avenue is closed between Pikes Peak Avenue and Kiowa Street because of this investigation.

Police tell KRDO NewsChannel 13's Chris Jacobs that the suspect driver blew a tire shortly after the chase began.

Officers say the driver aimed the car at a police vehicle and attempted to hit the vehicle head-on.

A police SUV and a civilian's vehicle were hit during the incident. It's unclear how serious the damage is.

Police began following the car when they ran its plates and discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
