Three people linked to llama killing face charges

Three teens in Trinidad are charged with animal cruelty related charges.

TRINIDAD, Colo. -

The Trinidad Police Department says it has obtained arrest warrants for three people and that a fourth person could face charges in the death of a llama whose remains were found at Atchison Canyon.

Police say the llama was shot with an arrow and then its throat was slit.

The only adult arrested has been identified as Cody Kissman, 18.

The names of two 17-year-old boys who police say were involved have not been released.

Police say Kissman and one of the 17-year-olds is facing charges for aggravated cruelty to animals, which is a class 6 felony. They say the other 17-year-old did not actively participate in killing the animal. He is facing a charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated cruelty to animals, which is also a class 6 felony.
