COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Toys for Tots is making the holiday season special for children in need.

KRDO Newschannel 13 has teamed up with American Furniture Warehouse to collect gifts to help out Toys for Tots.

The mission for the holiday season is to collect new, unwrapped toys for less fortunate children.

Gifts are not the only things that can be accepted; monetary donations are also welcomed.

Toys for Tots is in great need this year, since donations have dropped 50 percent.

Even though there is a huge need, donors feel everyone should have happy holidays.

"I've always had a great Christmas. My parents provided for us, and I just wanted to provide for the community. You know, with the economic situation, it's really important that we get out there and provide for the families in need," said Deb Rocco, who donated to Toys for Tots.

You have until Dec. 20 to give donations.

In Colorado Springs, you can donate at the KRDO Newschannel 13 studios, on 8th Street; or American Furniture Warehouse, on Chestnut Street; and in Pueblo, the donation spot is the American Furniture Warehouse, on Dillion Drive.
