Proceeds from $15 shirt helps pay for repairing or replacing damaged firefighting gear.

BLACK FOREST, Colo. -

The Weltz family of Black Forest has designed a special T-shirt to thank firefighters for protecting its home during the recent wildfire.

The gray shirt has an image of a squirrel on the front and a ponderosa pine tree on the back, and bears the words, "The Black Forest Fire 2013, Standing Tall Together."

Proceeds from the $15 shirt will help the fire department pay for repairing and replacing equipment damaged in the fire.

Missy Weltz-Brotherton said her family wants to show gratitude to firefighters who saved not only the Weltz home, but other homes as well.

"This shirt is our way of thanking the firefighters and first responders for their tireless efforts," said Weltz-Brotherton.  "(We're) also making sure that we all remember that standing tall together is what will help our community rebuild."

"I think it's wonderful," said resident Sherry Lambert.  "It's beautiful.  It brings a lot of people together.  It makes people know that we care about each other. It's amazing what people are doing."
