Two arrested in El Paso County burglary spree

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has arrested two people in connection to a series of burglaries in Black Forest and Cimarron Hills.

Hunter Cody Shackelford and Kylie Jo Mardon were arrested on Thursday, October 3, 2013.

Sheriff's Office investigators say they've linked Shackelford and Mardon to more than twenty business burglaries in Black Forest and three business burglaries in Cimarron Hills.

Shackelford is facing felony charges. He's being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on $10,000 bond.

Mardon is also facing felony charge. She is free on $1,000 bond.

Since September 22, 2013, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office has been investigating reports of more than 20 business burglaries in the Black Forest area. In each case, someone forced their way into businesses and stole a variety of items. The sheriff's office says a large amount of stolen property was recovered as a result of this investigation.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says there may be additional victims linked to this investigation and more charges are possible.
