KRDO-TV 13 TO AIR LIVE TELECAST
OF CC at NORTH DAKOTA ON JAN. 11
Colorado College’s renewed partnership with KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 FM and 1240 AM already has produced an extra New Year’s bonus for CC fans.
The station’s ABC television affiliate announced this week that the Tigers’ game at the University of North Dakota on Saturday, Jan. 11, will air live from Grand Forks on KRDO-TV 13, starting at 6 pm MT.
“We are very excited to partner with KRDO ABC TV to carry this outstanding contest between Colorado College and North Dakota,” said Scott Lowenberg, associate director of athletics. “KRDO NewsRadio is the home for all CC Tiger hockey games on the radio and for KRDO ABC TV to step up and carry this game on January 11th is an outstanding addition to our already outstanding partnership.”
The Jan. 11 outing marks the night of a two-game National Collegiate Hockey Conference series against the Sioux that weekend at Engelstad Arena, as the teams also meet for the first time as members of the NCHC in their nationally televised (CBS Sports Network) series opener on Friday, Jan. 10. The Tigers stunned UND, 4-3 in overtime, at the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s Final Five tournament in St. Paul, Minn., last March.
“KRDO Newschannel 13 is thrilled,” said Tim Larson, general manager for KRDO TV and radio, “to bring Colorado College hockey into the homes of Tigers fans while the team is on the road at North Dakota.”
KRDO has returned as flagship radio station for the CC Tiger Sports Network in 2013-14. As a result, fans can tune in to games on either the AM or FM radio dial for the first time ever. Broadcasts of Tiger Hockey games, featuring award-winning Ken Landau with the play-by-play, can be heard loudly and clearly throughout the greater Colorado Springs and Pueblo areas, as well as worldwide via the Internet and smart-phone application.
In addition to all games, home and away, KRDO also will air the hour-long (6-7 p.m.) Scott Owens Coach's Show once each month during the season. The first show is scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 15, live from Tony’s Bar & Grill downtown. The station also is delivering on another account, treating CC's fans to a 15-minute increase – from 22 to 37 – in duration of each and every pre-game show.
